Hi
I am currently studying for my BSc (Honours) Psychology through The Open University which is all carried out online/home based as my social anxiety never let me go to a brick university. My degree is split up into a number of modules and my next module is all about Child Development and I am seriously anxious about how I am going to cope because I am going to be doing two modules at the same time and one I have to work as a group and do statistics and stuff that I am really bad at. I also know Im going to really struggle with the Child Development module as I got half way through it last year and had to drop out because I was finding it too hard and I couldn't face doing the exam. My modules don't start until October but I am already working myself up into such a state about it that its making me feel ill ![]() Are there any other older students on here? (I am 27)

Welcome to Psych Central!
Good to see you here and I am sorry that you are struggling, but hey, you came to the right place! I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling anxious about school, but alot of has been there and are willing to help you through it.It can be kinda of intimidating when you are having to juggle multiple subjects, and my biggest suggestion is to find a tutor in the subject you know you are struggling in. That will help you understand that subject and alleviate stress caused by not understanding the subject. We have many different forums here that can probably touch on anything you might want to know about, as well as many great moderators, community liaisons, and members that are willing to give their advice in hopes to help you! We also have a great chatroom that you will be able to enter, once you have 5 approved posts. The chat community is really great and can help with on the spot advice when you need it. I hope that you get as much out of this site as I have. It is truly a wonderful community! |
