A trick it took me a long time to figure out is to ignore the future, just focus on the task at hand; don't be taking "this" course because it's a requirement for "this" degree which you then have to turn into a job and go out on your own and save the world, etc.

What's the next thing due? See if you can study for "this" test or write "this paper so it satisfies you and let it be a thing of its own, not hooked up to everything else. Passing the course or getting certain grade is not the problem, it's the next bit of studying, quiz, test, paper to write, etc.
