Hey. for the last few weeks every day I've been super down. I sleep more than 12h a day and my life's miserable. my finals are in 1.5 months and I haven't read a thing. there's so much to study. If I don't succeeded then I will literally have to kill myself (before you say not passing isn't the end of the world in my country it is the end of the world)
I can't even look at my books. specially that god damn poetry and theology! what can I do? I physically can't get myself to do it. whenever I study or force myself I end up being angry for a long time (the effects last a few days. I tap my finger very hard on my desk do everything with more force (like put the cup on my desk harder) and I just feel super anxious and everything, constantly tapping my foot to the floor. wanting to scream every time something little happens (net DC etc)) __________________ I hate myself It's a curse to be transgender |

I struggle with depression, functioning and studying. Something that was recommended to me that may help you too. Is to get a book or notes out. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Read or do your work for that period and that period only; when the timer goes off, take a break.
Then in a little bit, after say a 10 minute break, try it again. 5 minutes. It will go by pretty fast and getting a bit done at a time it will feel better than procrastinating doing nothing, which will make it worse in your mind over time and making it more monumental to get started and harder. After a couple of times of 5 minutes, keep going with the same pattern or try increasing it by a couple of minutes if feeling up to it. But no matter do 5 minutes and when you think about it, 5 minutes, it takes that long some times to get a cup of coffee or tea, so really how long is that; the time will go by fast. That's all you have to do is a few minutes, that's all that is in front of you right now. You can do this. __________________ I can be changed by what happens to me. How about enrolling yourself in a group study or tutoring program. It will definitely help you. Don’t lose hope.

I would say not to procrastinate is definitely a good idea. I used to routinely get overwhelmed because I was under too much stress and didn't know it. A tutor is a great idea, it only take one idea one little tweak to provoke great ideas a new way of thinking on things.

I have to have a good "mind set" to study!
Barring that...I try to break the tasks down into tiny pieces... clear a place on the desk. maybe a few hours later... pull the book to read/study... later on glance at the material... __________________ |

I had the same situation but my best friend helped me. You can ask any of your best friends to help you with studying and to motivate you.

You could also try to find a study buddy! Regardless of whether or not you study together, study buddies can help hold you accountable by reminding you of the task at hand. You can find one here,
here, or here if you're interested. No matter what, try to remind yourself that time is going to pass regardless of what you do so you might as well make the most of it. I find that setting a timer and holding myself to that helps a lot as well. You can do this! __________________ I'm an intern for 7 Cups!
