I want to expand my knowledge in computers & technology. I'm 22 years old I've never been self sufficient nor had a job in my life. It's time I become successful in life. I compare myself to other people who are better at math than me

Hi. Being a computer repair technician is a lot different than a computer software engineer. I personally am not in software engineering, but a different engineering faculty that is connected to the computer engineering faculty, at least at my school.
Software engineering is a combination of computer science and engineering. Being a technician is not like this at all. My personal opinion, if you would like to become a software engineer, it would be best to practice coding, and freshen up on your math skills. You could do an adult continuing education course for this (I believe). At least here in Canada, software engineering is one of the hardest engineering programs to get into. Also, are you looking into computer engineering or software engineering? Computer engineering is the hardware while software engineering is the software. If you are looking for software, the only school in New Jersey is Monmouth University. Stevens Insitute of Technology also offers a computer software engineering degree. Here in Canada, all the information about admissions is public knowledge, and anyone can look up the admissions average. Anyways, I do wish you luck into getting in. Engineering is a hard program to get into, but it's worth it.
