Since I graduated from high school (six months earlier) I had wantef to go to college. Unfortunately, I got pregnant at sixteen, but that wasn't the problem - i did graduate h.s. His father wasn't supportive so I had to move back with my parents to be able to do so. I didn't do what I wanted to which was attend community college, gain some credits to be able to transfer to a university. Instead I enrolled in a vocational which was a wise move. When minimum wage was $5.75, I was making $10-12 after I obtained a certificate. (Imagine with a degree). At eighteen I was on top of the world.

My last position was the assistant of the chief editor for the dept of human and health services in my city. Before that I worked for other non-profit organizations. However, in 2010, my life took a turn for the worst. Literally everything that could go wrong, did. Including my opportunity to go to college. I enrolled in 2006, but with life changing circumstances, I actually literally forgot I had even enrolled! I was reminded when I tried to enroll again in 2009, but more life altering situations made me miss that opportunity again. I tried again in 2017, and then - I was more eager for a quick fix, but I wasn't ready - at least that's what I tell myself.

Now, I settle for the only alternative - online courses. Even though I have trouble picking and chooseing the right courses to benefit my career options. I settle because it's better than just waiting for another change that woud potentially be taken from me again. Just in case anyone is interested I suggest edX, Coursera, OpenStax, and Alison. There are other, but these offer free courses, and paid certification even masters programs. Financial aid is available, but they also have the option to "pay as you go" being able to pay it and not have a debt when you obtain you certification or degree.
