I got accepted into a masters program but now feel completely overwhelmed. I received the acceptance from the department, but nothing from the university. I don't deal well with uncertainty and that is all I have right now. I don't know what I have to do but have a long list of things I don't know how to do and trying to find out is just confusing me more. AHHHHHH!
-buying friend's car, get car insurance, register car, pay taxes, etc.
-finding an apartment (in another state) or graduate housing
-finding health insurance that covers mental health (school insurance caps at $500 per year.)
-figure out if I get any financial aid
-if I don't get financial aid find a job (maybe have to find a job even if I do get financial aid)
-figure out what classes I need to take and how to register
-find another pdoc and T
-try not to crash during what is usually a hard time of year

Good first steps, googley, making a list of what you need to do. Just tackle things one at a time. I've got a complicated weekend (something both Saturday and Sunday I'm responsible for) and I'm just making plans and working on my lists and adding things as I remember them or they come up.

Congratulations though on being accepted! That alone is good, even if you can't start as early as you would like because some things aren't ironed out yet. I'm sure you'll get a notification from the school itself soon or you can make that a first item on your list; wait a week and call them ask them shouldn't you be getting notification, etc. Could be the school has some info on some of the things you need (housing, mental health services in the area, etc.).

Try to concentrate on one or two things at a time. I suggest making a little list and crossing it off as you go. Thinking about everything at once is indeed overwhelming and tends to lead to stress and procrastination. I'm sure you'll find the process a lot more streamlined when you're picking your classes or on your way to the insurance company.

Good job on your acceptance!

One thing at a time... do the most important and time sensitive things first, worry about everything else later. Ask for help as you need it, to get things done.
