I have recently been skipping school - I just stay in bed because I can't concentrate on things anyway and I feel awful around people who're too busy telling me how terrible their life is because they lost their favourite top.

But I've decided to get help. It's due to my mother really - she told me that I can either go to school or move out. Those were my options, and her idea of 'helping me' through my depression when I wrote her a letter telling her of my results and fears/struggles. I asked her to get me screened.

So, as a result, I am going to tell her rather than ask to get me an appointment for the doctors so that I can hopefully be tested for ADHD (which my mother was sure I had as a child but never got me screened) and if necessary the other things indicated as very likely by my results: anxiety; depression; and schizophrenia (my dad has it).

I think that at the least it will make it acknowledgeable that I am not 'bull-you know what'ing which my brother accuses me of every time I make what my mum calls a 'shrill noise' and speak. Hopefully from there I'd like to request redoing my highers from this year if possible - my English and Philosophy are really all I need seen as others were just fillers as others were forced on me (you HAVE to take 5 highers and I was the unlucky 1 too many for most classes - picked randomly).

Hi NotQuiteNorm, congratulations on your decision in getting help for yourself. I see this was posted last month; so how are things going for you now.

hugs, bj
