I just want to put it out there that just for today I am going to let go of my husband's issues with our friend who is visiting (they are NOT getting along). I have spent way too much mental energy on it ... sadness, worry, frustration, etc. I am exhausted from it. Today I am taking the day off and every time it comes into my mind, I am going to gently release it. All of my worry hasn't helped anyway ...

Good luck! I hope you can physically separate yourself from the situation as well. It's hard to be around that tension.

Lulu, I hope you can spend a little time and physical distance away from that issue as well. I believe you have taken a step in the right direction.

OK - it is almost 9PM my time and I have had a better day. Nothing has changed but my attitude. Thanks to PC friends for the support here.

I have had an epiphany about this situation with my husband and our friend. How I am feeling is REALLY about me and my issues of care-taking, control, fixing, and trying to orchestrate relationships that are not mine to fix. I falsely believed (once again) that if I can control the external environment, I will feel better inside. I know this about myself but I have to revisit this place on occasion.
True serenity is getting comfortable on the inside ... I've got more work to do. ![]() |

I’m sort of the opposite. I don’t try to “fix” other people’s problems. They aren’t mine to fix
![]() It’s a bit like when a Doctor (or other “professional” ) labels someone in 4 minutes. The label may or not be “accurate” but in many cases this labelling and /? Attempt to “fix” the “patient’s” issues isn’t helpful ![]() Peace to all in this thread. ![]()
