I have been going to counseling for about two months now. My last session he ask what goals do I have set for myself? Well I have always had goals set in my life but I guess I have reached all my goals to this point. My kids are grown and have moved out and they were my life. I'm going through a divorce right now so I haven't really thought of any personal goals. My career is my dream job, which I have been establishing my own boarding and pet grooming business for the past 4 years and love it. So how do I figure out what I enjoy in life and set new goals?

Maybe you could set a goal to expand your business since it is your dream job. You know, add a pet day-care or a training program or something. Maybe set a goal to complete a class that interests you in college or to improve your physical health in some way.
Thanks for this!

I've really benefited from two processes to help me identify the priorities in my life and set goals around them -

One is the book Best Year Yet by Jenny Ditzler, the other is "the passion test" exercise where you list various areas of your life and then prioritize (it's easy and useful)

There is a quick summary approach here, although I also think there is a book about this (I've never read it, just this has been enough for me)

(sorry, I'm new to the site & it's not letting me post a link! Google for "oprah what's your passion exercise" and you should find it! and maybe link it for others?)
Thanks for this!
