Hello, i'm starting this thread for anyone who wants to set themselves daily or weekly goals but also want support and encouragement.

For the coming week, I want to not act on my addiction. Although this is a life goal also.

I also want to get into a positive routine. So some self care and eating regularly. Those are my week goals.
Hugs from:
Ruftin
Thanks for this!

It's hard to set goals when you're depressed. I can't even have plans for the evening!
But I will try to set a goal for this week. I will get into the habit of exercising again. Will do like 30-45 min walks every evening.

This is a great idea.

I am working on staying focused at work and not letting anxiety carry me away.

I am trying to stick to my high protein low carb diet with meals or snacks every 3-4 hours so I don't get brain fuzz.

I want to exercise or do yoga every day so my anxiety and depression levels stay lower.

Creamsickle, when you feel what you have said, you are nearer to a breakthrough. Talk to your therapist or psychiatrist. You are really into the thick of it but you are almost in a clearing.

There are articles that go into more detail about coping

I'm showered, dressed and going out for dinner with my family. Took a lot of mental and physical prep as dad is very triggering but I'm going to do it anyway. My goal: Try and create a good memory with him today. Wish me luck!!!! Thanks (((Dog on a Tree))) I think your thread prompted me to do this. If it doesn't go well I'll be looking for you!!!! Just kidding. Tee Hee!!!

It went well and I didn't die from it. Now I challenge someone else out there to step up to the plate. Who's next??? What did you do and how did it go? If it doesn't go well at least you tried!

I'm going to try to do some volunteering either this week or next week. I'm apprehensive about going outside and being around people but if I can do this, this will be a big step for me

btw, it's great that things went well for you when you met up with your dad
Thanks for this!

You can do it! We're rooting for you. Even if you don't at least you had the idea.

Well today I went into a charity shop and asked about volunteering, but the manager wasn't there yet, so they said to pop back later to fill some forms in.
I'm proud that i tried
Thanks for this!

Well good for you Dog on a Tree!!! I'm very proud of you too. It's amazing how much effort goes into doing these things. I'm exhausted, but it does feel good to challenge yourself. I did walk the dog yesterday. I did not stop by to say hello to the new neighbor as there were visitors there THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!! I was soooooo relieved. I got off by the skin of my teeth.

Hahaha! I don't think the new neighbor will ever know I exist unless I trip and fall out in front of his house and need 911 with flashing lights and sirens. I'm great at being invisible.

You're going to get your hair cut...that's good. Hmmm??? QUESTION!!! Are you going out of the house to have ur hair cut or doing it yourself in the bathroom???? Just checking to make sure you're actually leaving the house. Tee Hee...

Being invisible has it's uses
Oh, i'm going out of the house to have a hair cut and lucky for me the barbers are across the road from me It's only a 20 second or less, journey.

I went outside today and also got CBT therapy, so I will be going outside again in less than a hour

(((DOaT))) 20 seconds or less journey to get hair cut? That counts doesn't it?? Sure it does!!!! O.K. I'll give you credit for it!!!!! CBT definitely counts. You'll get enough points for the rest of the month in my book.

My goal today: Cleaning my mom's room and bathroom. It's beyond filthy. Not been cleaned in the 6 months she's been here. My sister and I took her into our house because dad was so abusive but since here she refuses to clean up after herself. AARRRRGGGGG!!!!! She has the ability. Has a doctorate in Philosophy, planning elaborate trips to Australia and currently in Calafornia to attend a teaching conference. Nothing wrong with her hands or body or mind. Has the time to do it!!! Just won't!!! She says she just doesn't care about such things. I personally think it's disrespectful. She's under my roof now. I'm going to be the bigger person although everything in me tells me not to. Trust me I'm no saint. Just this once I want to do the right thing even if it kills me. I hope I can do it.

Omg, I can't believe that your mom's room has not been cleaned in 6 months and she's living in your house?
I think maybe next time get her to clean the room with you? Maybe do that a few times before finally getting her to clean her own room?
I believe you can do it sis! (You are now my sister ) I hope it all goes well for you.

I didn't clean my mom's room. I just feel so angry about it. I closed the door. We used to go over and clean their house only to find it in ruins a few days later. She literally doesn't care. *sigh* Oh well. I did however draw this------> Daily, Weekly Goals I felt inspired and ran with it which is unusual as I haven't drawn in quite awhile. I worked on it for 2 days and finished it yesterday evening. Thanks again (((DoaT))) as every time I visit this thread I feel inspired to get up and do something. What's going on with your volunteering? I bet you thought I forgot? Never...ur sister has a good memory!!! Tee Hee! Hope you like your hair cut and that appoint with T went well. Will be thinking of a goal for tomorrow dear brother. I'm glad to have a brother again. I lost 3 brothers when I was adopted out of my natural family.

Ah, I understand why you didn't clean your mom's room. It's really her responsibilty and it's not fair on you. Do you have a sister? Why don't you and your sister talk to your mom about the room?
I really like your drawing sis congratulations on making the picture
Why don't you get into Art and becone an Artist?

Ah nothing is going on with my volunteering yet, i'm undecided about it
Damn you for not forgetting!
Thank you, the appointment with T went well. I'm soo sorry to hear about your brothers/family. Could you not get in contact with them again?
I'm going to have my hair cut in 25 mins!
(sorry if my posts are getting longer )
Thanks for this!
