Sex with husband became a trigger for anxiety, anger, humiliation, tears, and depression. I stopped sleeping with husband. No more of above symptoms present.

Close interactions with mother trigger me to say something that starts a fight with her or vice versa, which causes depression. I keep a distance from mother and try not to open my mouth. No more symptoms.

Yet surely these cause residual problems of their own?

How do you mean? Are you asking if depression causes other problems?
