At least once a week, my best friend from college and I will attend the weight room on campus. Since freshman year, one of my techniques I've used when bench pressing is a "motivator".
A motivator in this sense is a sound or image of something that gets and keeps me going throughout my reps. On some occasions have I listened to the track "Guile's Theme" from Street Fighter 2 since it literally goes with everything. Most of the time, though I have recommended my friend to pull up an image of a real or fictional woman (Gwen Stacy, Naomi Hunter, Monica Bellucci, or Jess McDonell to name a few) that I find very attractive and display it over my head while I punch in the reps. In my opinion, this is a very good motivator for me as it tends to remind me how I not only want to stay in shape, but also love working out to see how the ladies would react.
As good of an idea it is in my mind, I am wondering, is this truly a good method or is there any better way of going about it?
