I have worked on creating an accurate list of things I can do for coping skills. I bought two weekly boards and put am and pm on them. then what I did the last two days... But that is it.
This may not seem like a lot but I hope it helps. Right now I have severe depression and am having a hard time doing much. I have things to do but no will to do them. I have to force myself to do things. and right now it's hard to do them. I lost my job and had to put in a leave of absence from grad school. OH and my 3.8 GPA is now changed to lower. All because of the last three weeks. I was in the hospital and unable to do the work. The policies of the school prevented me from turning in three assignments of four. Which meant that I could get a C but choose not to. Because I would have had to have a perfect score. and the grades were a bit harsh. I didn't want to try because of how I feel. I need to do something different in my life. I need to fill out those boards. But I can't seem to focus on anything. I'm just so sad. I need support. What would you do in my shoes? |

It is hard to imagine what I would do in your shoes, but I can imagine you doing what you can to self-care, even though it is hard.
(((safe hugs))) The self-care stuff could include showering or bathing, picking your meals for the day, organizing, cleaning, rearranging furniture, making lists of things you enjoy doing or at least used to enjoy doing but need help with doing them, going for a walk, going to the zoo, hanging out with a friend for morning coffee, exercising, reading, listening to music, watching a show, possibly considering an alternative career path, etc. You know yourself best. You can take time to rest and heal. |

I have taken time to read. And it's been the best time ever!! I have learned that I am limitless! And so are you. With faith and effort I can do anything. Even recover from depression. It's been the effort part that has been lacking... And the faith part has been partly there. Now what do I accomplish?
I know, not letting my phone drop.....okay that one is more humorous then anything else. |

My entire routine is filled with distractions.I need to.But sometimes I feel numb and do not have a will or enough motivation to do anything. But I eventually realise I need to do something to keep me normal.coping and surviving is what I do.Do whatever gives you some relief. There are so many to chose from.
