Due to my lack of being able to sleep recently, I actually got my closet cleaned and organized and my bureau. If I still can't sleep next month, I'll take the bookcases.

I just spent a little under an hour and 15 minutes dusting some common areas of the house. I was planning on dusting a family member’s room, but I couldn’t figure out how to turn on their overhead light, so I switched gears instead. I filled 1.5 microfiber towels with dust. I even tried a technique I saw on Pinterest where you drape the microfiber towel over the bristles of a broom & hold it in place with a rubber band in order to dust higher. It was slow going at first, but then I got to the blinds. I will pick up there next week & the carpet underneath. I will research blind cleaning techniques until then. I could also finish with the fridge by cleaning the outside doors. I’m not going to mess with the freezer inside.

Ive been kinda terrified of cleaning the kitchen, but that is the next most messiest spot! I havent been able to hardly enter it, except to use the microwave and the kettle. So it is going to be life-changing to reclaim that space.

My husband's work needed a new heater due to its a break-in- So, he took this old heater we had that still works, just needs a new hose to work. We don't need it. If there is another break-in, it doesn't matter. The good thing is that it opened up a good space in that area to reorganize things, clean and get rid of some other things.

We organized an different space upstairs as well that made things easier to navigate.

Finally, I cleaned out the refrigerator, which was getting gross.

I have been cleaning out my closet again and organizing. I have tossed out a bunch of clothes that were too old to donate and gotten rid of socks that are mixed match.

Don't feel too bad. I did myself with a previous apartment because the neighbor left a lot of rotten food when they moved out and didn't tell anyone else.

I want to get back to doing this. I skipped a few weeks because I was doing enough of it at work—I alternate between 4 and 5 hours each week, in addition to my other duties. Now I’ve built enough cleaning stamina to want to get back to cleaning regularly at home again, mostly on my day off.

So far today I have:
1) gathered my clean & cleanish clothes in my closet & dresser
2) cleaned out my bag
3) cleaned the top of my desk
4) vacuumed the room I hang out in when I’m home and awake
5) cleaned the shelves above my desk

For a total of 1 hour, 22 minutes.

I used to go to bed at night promising myself, "TOMORROW i will clean up." I noticed that lately i havent been doing that.

I started exercising (on my little mini-pedaler) a week ago, missing only one day because i was tired. Im tracking that on my phone calendar. I KNOW that if i keep this up, my health will improve.

This is making it easier to keep up with new canned food deliveries and subsequent recycling and trash disposal, but im still waaaaay behind in that. I have a weird attachment to my trash. My bedroom was always a mess when i was growing up.

I’m doing better on my day off today than last week. Last week I laid on the floor all day, covered with a blanket, looking at random pictures on Pinterest for like 12 hours straight. I didn’t even eat lunch because I saw no point. Today I’ve already spent 30 minutes organizing some DVDs & VHS tapes for a family member to donate. They volunteer at a thrift store that still sells them, so we’ll see… I want to ride this momentum by going thru some of my boxes of random craft supplies while binge watching Apple TV+.

How is everyone doing with cleaning & organizing lately? This change in weather is a dreary adjustment, but it does make it a little easier for me to focus on indoor activities.

I just spent 46 minutes vacuuming the stairs. They look so much better. Next I’m going to scoop the litter pans. Then I will clean off the top shelf of a closet I share with a family member. After that, I think I’ll be ready to veg out in front of the tv, maybe cleaning out a box of random craft supplies as I watch?

My GP referred me to a social worker for my hoarding. We talked on the phone and she will call back after the thanksgiving holiday, at which time i may make an appointment for an assessment with the county hoarding team.

I was hoping to get a lot done this week, but my stomach hurts so much! So i just now wrote to my gp about the pain.

I just spent an hour & 46 minutes cleaning an area about 7’ by 4’ & I’m feeling so sad. I’m taking a break from even looking at it, let alone cleaning it. I know when I look at it later, I will be pleased with myself, but right now it just feels bad. Now it’s time to nurture myself. **** this mess.

I never thought about that.

I spent a little over 15 minutes today with a lint brush cleaning off some surfaces of cat hair. I’m just doing a little bit today because I have to work later this afternoon. It feels good to be chipping away at the mess even though I’m still left a little sensitive from yesterday. Good luck everyone!

Doesn't it feel good to clean up a little more?

Because I cleaned this area, I now have space to do my yoga tape, which helps. I’m still throwing stuff away from cleaning out this area, but I will be done soon. I cleaned more today, and once again, I feel bad for it. I’ll feel glad later. **** this mess!

I just had my carpet pulled out and organized my closet by adding a coke top to my clothes hanger to add more clothes to hang.

I’ve spent 26 minutes today gathering my clean/ish clothes in the dresser & closet, cleaning off the shelves above my desk, & wiping down my desktop. I think that’s all for now. I want to work in my dot journal, listen to my new pandora radio account, & read a library book the rest of the day.
