I have no job, no school, no direction. Sometimes I wonder if the reason I have no direction is because of my condition. Or maybe I just don't care. I mean, I have a belief that everything in my life depends on the medication I am on. If I were not on medication, my life would be in shambles - so to speak.

I remember having all kinds of ideas and theories when I was on a very low dose of Zyprexa. Now I am on 30mg. I just keep telling myself that things will get better. I have been fully medication compliant for almost six consecutive years now. And things still have not actually gotten better. I have no focus, no passion/aspiration for anything. Is this normal?

I know from personal experience that depression can drain energy and motivation. Don't know about other mental illnesses. Hope you will find a way to get your energy and motivation back. Six years is a long time to be burdened with what you describe. I wish I knew how to be helpful. My heart goes out to you!

Thanks, Yaowen. With all that's going on in the world, who cares anyway?

If you are in a state of not caring, then something still isn't right. I hope you care for something or someone. Please be careful and talk to someone you trust.

I think you should share these feeling with your psychiatrist. You may need a med change or adjustment. I too rely on meds but I was having thoughts my physician didn't like and told me to report to my psychiatrist. I'm weaning off one med and starting another now. I like the new med so far. I'm losing weight I gained on meds, I'm sleeping less not 12 hours a day more like 8 hours. It's really going well.
