Why don't you ask for Vicodin? If the pain is so bad, Ibuprofen may not cut it. You would only use Vicodin short-term.

@Tart Cherry Jam, Yes I'm really trying to be consistent this time. Signed up for another 5 day Tiny Habits program and so far so good.

Flossed and brushed again yesterday.

tonight is one of those rare nights when I am able to do the 2nd brushing right before going to bed.

It certainly feels wonderful.

Very good. I do have to say, that I like how my teeth feel after I've brushed.

Flossed and brushed yesterday, Now shooting for a full week of brushing.

One of my upper side teeth hurts when I brush. It does not bother me otherwise. I will report it at my next cleaning in a couple of weeks. Maybe I need a filling?

@rjdb, When's your next dentist appointment? Could you maybe call their office and see if you can get in earlier?

Flossed, brushed, and rinsed with antibacterial mouthwash yesterday. In good news my gums have stopped bleeding when I brush.

I've signed up for another 5 day Tiny Habits program to help me keep it going.

Unfortunately I’m already on the early list… we’ll see for this week.

@rjdb, in that case I hope you get in soon.

Flossed, brushed but forgot to use the mouthwash yesterday.

don't! Don't use mouthwash straight after brushing. From the UK National Health Service' website:

"Should I use mouthwash?
Using a mouthwash that contains fluoride can help prevent tooth decay, but don't use mouthwash (even a fluoride one) straight after brushing your teeth or it'll wash away the concentrated fluoride in the toothpaste left on your teeth.

Choose a different time to use mouthwash, such as after lunch.

Don't eat or drink for 30 minutes after using a fluoride mouthwash."

Thanks for the info @Tart Cherry Jam. I'll remember that going forward.

Yesterday was rough, managed to floss but not brush.

Better day yesterday, I flossed and brushed, right before bed and rinsed with the antibacterial mouthwash in the afternoon.

An article in the New York Times about tooth enamel: What Causes Weak Teeth, and You Can Strengthen Your Enamel? - The New York Times

Requires subscription

mentions needing to wait 30-60 minutes after eating before you brush, among other things
