I too do better on less medication. Now in the twilight years I’m on mono therapy for the bipolar, just latuda. But several for sleep issues. A combination of otc and prescription.

I slept great last night. I took an extra ambian but maybe I didn’t need it? The night was cold. Only 63 F when I went to bed. It was glorious. Maybe not square peg guys 40’s but cool enough for me. I loved it. I slept so well I had to rush to get ready for my hour drive to Rochester for my dental appointment. I’ve also quit the pain meds. Didn’t take any yesterday and I think it helped me sleep better too. But in my rushing about I didn’t get to reflect on my dreams so they were forgotten.

Isn't it weird how when you wake up, the dream you have just had seems so vivid, unique, and memorable, and then several hours later it is completely gone if you do not record it?!

Yes. They are so vivid and of such a wondrous quality it’s disappointing when they disappear.

I had the weirdest experience.

I slept well, waking up twice to pee which is typical and going back to bed. Woke up, thinking it was for the whole day ahead, at about 6:45 AM. Was hungry so ate instead of doing dental hygiene. Then realized I still was sleepy so took a short nap, setting the alarm to 7:45AM to make it to my 8AM meeting virtually. TWoke up with the alarm but was tired, even though Oura registered a high score of 80 for sleep and even 88 for readiness, out of 100. I took Ritalin.

Was falling asleep during that meeting, and since I was only an optional invitee, excused myself and dropped off about after about 20 minutes. Took another nap and at 8:50 AM realized that the inside of my head was spinning, a side effect of Ritalin that I had experienced before once after taking a double dose. It was spinning so bad that attempts to get up from the bed were fruitless. It was getting to the point of my being a fall risk. I then sent a message saying that I would not be able to make it to my 9AM meeting and asked to record it for me. Also said that I would later share my updates planned for that meeting in messaging. And, fell asleep.

Woke up at 11:30 AM. Still dizzy. Waited until I was able to get up from the bed. Still somewhat dizzy but not a fall risk anymore.

Since then, I have been gradually getting back to normal and from now till the evening I will work to catch up with everything I missed at work.

This is very disappointing: Ritalin did not produce the desired effect and instead produced an adverse effect.

Somehow it is difficult to win this game.

I've been getting at least 7 hours of CPAP time since my previous check in, usually 8 or more hours.

I have an appointment to pick up a new machine next week.

Some dreams stay with me all day or longer; they fade very gradually. I'm sure I don't remember most of them.

I'll be in bed by 10:15 tonight. We're expecting below freezing temps, and some windows are still open even now. (But I'll close them soon.) I'm looking forward to a nice deep sleep, although the waning gibbous moon might interfere.

I'm glad all of you are still posting, and I hope you have the RItalin figured out, TCJ!

gibbous moon, another new term I have just learned! I look up how to pronounce it, too.

Slept pretty good last night and had a good workout at the gym, so I should be getting sleepy soon. Stopping my morning meds has turned out to be the best thing so far - the daytime drowsiness has mostly disappeared. Glad to see everyone posting and keeping up with this thread. My dreams disappear as soon as I wake up, sometimes even as vivid as they are.

Tonight going to be at 11pm - the CPAP recorded 7 hours and 30 minutes of sleep last night.

Today I am doing just fine on Ritalin. I took it in the morning on an empty stomach, waited for a long time (more than 45 mins) afterwards before having a latte, and am having a good day.

Going to bed now, shortly after 11PM.

I had a good day after taking Ritalin on an empty stomach this morning. I worked productively and then I had two workouts.
