Hello.

I've been a self harmer since I was around 7. I'm now 16.

Biting, cutting, overdosing, drinking, punching myself, punching other things, all sorts.

I am, however, getting a lot better. I haven't cut, drank, or overdosed in months. I do still punch myself quite violently and I do other self harming behaviors, but it's gotten a lot better now!

It's extremely hard to cope with the urges, but I'm getting stronger day by day. Compared to how I used to be, I think I've changed so much.

Hi Pupp! Welcome to PC.

Glad things are getting better - take it one day at a time, and it does get easier because you're right - you do get stronger.

Do you understand how you are getting better?

Hi Pupp! Welcome to PC

I'm glad things are getting better for you. You sound like you're feeling positive about this and you seem a strong person.
You do get stronger every day that you fight the urges and get through another day

Take care of yourself

I am finding different ways to cope, I am reaching out for help/support instead of immediately going to that urge, I am getting better with it. The urges are less, also.
Thanks for this!

That's great to hear!

It shows that you are taking very positive steps towards recovery and to me, it says that you really want to recover and are determined to do whatever it takes.

You are indeed a strong person
