I have cuts on my arms that are very visable, they are from about a month ago. My parents saw them and i quickly denied them being resent. I was told if im found with anymore on me im going to be grounded for a long time with no contact with anyone. Instead of talking to me about it they wanta punish me for it. I belivie they think im acting out and trying to get attention from everyone, which isnt the case, i would be happy if i was left alone. I dont know how to talk to them about it.......

.....they never listen anyway...

Unfortunately not many parents do understand what we're feeling. And they're probably scared for you and want you to be safe so they think grounding you is a good idea. They're not exactly right... but they at least care, right?

Or print this off and give it to them. It's worth a shot talking to them, because they DO know you do it... they probably just don't know what to do about it now.

Have you talked to a school counsellor about this??

I agree with Chrisitna - they know you are hurting yourself and they thinnk that you will stop if they ground you - wrong! but they prob dont know what else to do - are you seeing a T? if not can you ask them to get you one?
