Don’t think this quite counts as self injury, though I have nobody but myself to blame. Thursday morning I fell off a ladder at work good 15-18” to the cement floor. Mild sprain to my left ankle, wrenched my left knee, tweaked both wrists (mostly my left), really banged up my left shoulder and of course smacked my head real good giving me a mild concussion. Went to the unguent care, the Doctor said I was very luck (lucky you not everyone gets to fall off a ladder). He found no major damage, but said I would be sore for a few days.

Then today, I decided to really put myself out there, among my many issues is social phoba. I volunteered to “Habitat for Humanity” they do good work, I used to build houses in the summer when I was a kid, thought it might make a nice deposit in my Karma account. I was feeling better but moving a bit slower, while being careful of my left ankle I twisted my right one not once but twice, and smacked my thumb with a hammer.

Just griping mostly, after nearly a week without SI I can’t seem to avoid hurting myself one way or another.

So you are distracted and this is what is causing you to be accident prone?

You could be self conscience that you haven't SI and that could be causing your accidents. I think your best bet is to stay home and don't work for a few days. You need it. You don't want more accidents.

P.S. - I'm glad to know I'm not the only klutzy person in the world!!!

I think the mostly likely explanation is that I'm just a klutz, that and the universe hates me.

Mike that is really, really nice that you volunteered for Habitat for Humanity What a nice way to help other people and spend some time doing good work.

But i'm so sorry about all your accidents. I hope it's not having something to do with quitting SI. Maybe it's unconscious like not taking care of yourself? But I hope thinks will calm down so you can recover and relax and take care of yourself.

I agree with Sannah...the universe definantly does not hate you, otherwise alot worse would have come of your 18 foot fall from that ladder! (just saying, if anything, the universe is watching out for you!)

Slow down. Breathe. Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself. In my family we call those "no scissor days". Sometimes just getting out of bed is scary! And I've been known to fall off my flat shoes and sprain my ankle at least twice a year.
