I don't know, it MIGHT be triggering... just throwing that out there to be safe...

I burned myself a couple of days ago by heating up a metal spoon with a lighter and pressing it against my thigh. (Yeah, I slipped, go me...>_<) It's not a large burn--maybe 3/4 of an inch in length, and it's oblong with pointed ends, maybe about 3/4 a cm in width? After I removed the spoon, the outer layer of skin kind of became... I don't know the word for it--blistered a little, maybe? not like a bubbled up blister, but it came off very easily when I rubbed it/picked at it, so that white-ish layer underneath is showing. I've kept a band-aid on it, replacing it daily, and cleaned it each time. It's still oozing a bit though--not like insane amounts of yellow pus or anything like that, just that clear-ish, oozy stuff that comes out of a shallow wound (it's actually a tad yellow on the bandaid), but it hasn't stopped emitting this oozy fluid (should it have stopped by now?), and on one edge of the burn--not the outer edge, but inner edge, where the white-ish layer is--it's red. Like, red starting from the outer edge, and gradually working its way towards the center, and I'm pretty sure there's more red today than when I checked yesterday; definitely a bit darker red than yesterday... On the outer edges, it's starting to look a bit red as well, actually, more pinkish than red--point being, rosier than my normal skin tone... And the area on my leg is a bit swollen, I've discovered... Does this sound like an infection to you? Should I be too concerned?

If so, is this worth a trip to the college health center (I REALLY don't want to have to explain myself about it, nor do I want any other scars to make themselves known to the nurse...) or is it something that I could take care of on my own? Like I said, it's a fairly small burn...

I really need to start keeping up with my first aid...

I'm not sure if it's infected or not, but you should definitely put some neosporin on it.

I've done that lots. That's pretty much what burns do, BUT you should get it looked at. Please.
