Hi. I have been a cutter for 16 years. Found out I was Borderline Personality Disorder and Dependant Personality 2 years ago. And in the past two months have put over 600 cuts on myself. I dont know what else to do when im mad or lonely or sad or everything all at once.

Have you tried cutting paper instead of your skin? Often that has been a good alternative for me, to make snow-flakes out of folded paper. However that's with a sharp implement and might not be the best choice...
Have you tried picking up different hobbies, perhaps writing, drawing, messing with molding clay instead of cutting? There's also getting a punching bag, going for a run, doing any sort of exercises that might help. Also I suggest this website: http://www.twloha.com/find-help/ there are a few numbers that perhaps you could call in case the urge strikes you again... Such as 1 800 DONTCUT I hope this helps you, the best suggestion I have is to find help, talk to some people... Even build a support system. I know it can be hard to look for help or to trust in people at times... However you posted here, so perhaps some of us on PC can help you. I hope that any of this was useful to you |
