I'm so scared I feel like picking at my face and cutting. any suggestions anyone?

Hi, tzutujil,
Hope you're feeling a bit better.. Maybe being with someone (even just online) could make you feel safer? Or maybe simply delaying the action could help. Is something external scaring you? Or is it the thought of cutting that scares you? Maybe you could try to distract yourself with other thoughts.. |

Yes, I'm in therapy twice a week. Holding ice just doesn't do it for me.

Whenever I need a pain fix I hold ice cubes or do power yoga! Rigorous excercise, music, a good movie, anything to get you distracted from the pain :-)

Take phone books that aren't in use and find newspaper and every time you don't hurt yourself you can tear those up in pieces
if that doesn't work.... get some sculpture clay that is either white or terra cotta color, get paints that looks like your arm then go home and write a contract to yourself stating "I will not cause any harm until I have finished my sculpture of my write and hand. Then create to your hand/wrist area that you no longer are to do with yourself" take this contract with you sculped hand and say this is what I wanted to do. Make it has real as possible without using any blood only paint and brushes. When I had this problem I was advised to do this. On the 5th sculped and then baked in a regular oven in a glass dish cool, then paint the color of your skin and paint everyt hing you see. and IF you want to hurt yourself do everything safely and slowly and hopefully this will get to really start working. Hey *Will you share with me how if made you feel.
