Today marks four years self-injury/harm free!

Roughly February 20, 2008 I stopped self-injuring. I was in therapy for the umpteenth time, and had some supportive people who wanted me to stop.

But that wasn't all of it. It was freaking HARD. Every day you wonder what it would be like to relapse. The urges get easier to ignore, but the triggers still pop up. Some days I won't do some activities (like wash the dishes) because then I'd have something that might make me "slip up" and relapse.

I'm still in shock that I've made it this far, really. I have you all to thank for it too -- coming here and seeing all of the supportive and strong individuals that you all are, still fighting this day by day. It DOES get easier. Life DOES get better. And you CAN live without SI. It's just difficult some days.

Anyways, I'm not sure how to celebrate today but I may do some baking. I like food

Have a lovely day.

YAY YAY YAY I'm SOOOOO happy for you It just goes to show that there is hope out there for us. I have done very little over the past year thanks to CBT but at the moment things are rather stressful (and not what you may think LOL) so I have slipped up slightly. No matter, with a little work it will abate again. But for now CELEBRATE
