Mum just asked if I wanted to go prom dress shopping. I hadn't thought about prom which is at the end of june. What do I do!? I cant hide my arms - they don't do long sleeve prom dresses!! Mum knows about it already, but what about everyone else?? I don't want to miss my prom but dont want anyone to see. I'm trying to turn it around, my mum and cpn have made sure I stopped s/h'ing but it still shows. :/ :/ :/

Have you tried makeup or sunless tanning sprays...they probably won't cover the scars completely, but might make them less visible. Depending on where the scars are, you can try long gloves or bracelets.

Does your school have a good theatre dept. that might have stage make-up? That's how I dealt with mine for college graduation parties. I was nervous about asking, but the prof was really sweet and said after dealing with "artistic temperament types" that nothing shocked him anymore.

It worked for me, but I don't don't know how different brands compare or what kind mine was. Long gloves, maybe? The Princess Mia look?

Only my family and a couple of friends have asked and I hate it, but I get paranoid about what anyone thinks about me and like did they see ah kind of thing. Most people wouldn't ask but they'd still be thinking about it if they saw which I hate. I'll just have to try makeup or tan then if not I'll have to find another way around it. Princess mia look ha I like it maybe yeah. Thankyou!

how about long white gloves, you can get some pretty lacy ones that look really sophisticated and go well with prom wear, add a pretty bracelet over the top and no one will even wonder about what is underneath!

When I have to wear a formal dress during the summer, I usually find a mesh or lace jacket to wear over the dress. Something with a very light weave but that will cover my arms. Even a 3/4 sleeve one works well. Find a dress you like and then check formal wear shops for a mesh or lace or even a crochet jacket in a complementing color. If anyone asks why you're wearing a jacket...say you just liked the way it looked or that you get cold easily.
