I ended up cutting & burning this evening...I feel a bit better now. Tried to hold out & kept telling myself I wouldn't cut on my arms any more, but I failed. I don't know what it is about my arms, but they are my favorite places to cut. Guess I'm a failure...didn't try hard enough. Maybe I didn't care to try hard enough. Whatever...I guess 8\

Nope not a failure... if you were, then every time one of us did the same thing then, we all would be failures. And that's not true at all!!!! There is (most of the time) some underlying issue that we need to deal with.

Just think of this as a time to try again. and never stop trying!!
Thanks for this!

You are not a failure for self-harming, the fact that you posted here is progress in itself.

Do you know what triggered you to SI? Knowing our triggers, why we want to harm ourselves in the first place, is crucial to overcoming this negative behaviour.

Hang in there, one day at a time.

I'm sure that you tried really hard to resist. I can't remember if you have a therapist?

How is your work going with her if you don't mind me asking?

It's going good...last week was frustrating, but that's apart of working towards getting better. We haven't touched on my SI really. She says it makes her uncomfortable & she only has dealt with one client that has done it. I can understand the uncomfortable feeling she has because no one wants others to hurt themselves.

Can you get a therapist who has experience with SI? How long have you been with this therapist?

I'm not willing to change therapists. I've only been with her for a month now. She's seeing me for free because she understands my financial situation which is no income & no insurance. I'm not passing this opportunity up.

I'm pretty sure we are going to work on my SI. When I 1st talked to her to set an appt up, I stated that I SI.

I see, I would do the same thing. So glad that you have this opportunity.
