(((Estranged))) - My cuts aren't deep and I have been using bio oil to try to make the scars fade. Clothing is obviously helpful depending on where the scars are - beyond that I think there are makeups that can help.

tea tree oil is good for drying shallower injuries.
chamomile tea (very strong) is great and helps to heal fast, but the wound has to be clean and not too infected... because it actually works too fast. __________________ Glory to heroes!

Idk if it's on your arms, but if it's is, long sleeves (well obviously) or bracelets work, depending on where the cuts are. And you can use make up to cover them up. You could also wear arm warmers.

Vitamin E oil is really good on cuts once they've closed, to prevent scarring.

I've found Aloe Vera gel to be helpful.

There are some good videos on youtube about what makeup helps cover up scars on arms etc. Other than that, just make sure your cleaning the wounds properly so they have the best chance of healing well, take some vitamin E supplements and once they wounds have helped use vitamin E oil or bio oil to help the scars fade quicker.

Does anyone have any suggestions for old scars? Over a year old... My ex-bf suggested Mederma but I've heard that can sometimes make the scars worse? Anyone have any experience with scar creams?

I went to the doctor for a very large scar and got a cream that reduces the size of the scar tissue by thinning the skin. It sounds weird but it was painless and actually worked a bit. I'm going to see a dermatologist about it now which IMO is the best thing to do. All the over the counter products I've used that promised to reduce my scars in someway have irritated them more than anything. I now only use a soothing cream that is actually advertised for stretch marks. it works really good. |

That's why I'm reluctant to try an otc product, I've heard a lot of bad stories :\ What soothing cream do you use?

It's weird, but I always think before I cut. Like, before I actually do anything I make sure that no one will ever see the scars. Hence, I cut my waist.
