I am really trying not to cut today, but it is only 9 in the morning and the urges are strong. I see my gynecologist later this afternoon, and I don't want her to see a fresh cut. It is bad enough that she will see the scars and cuts that are scabbed over. I have no motivation to really do anything, so what can I do to distract myself so I don't cut, other than posting on here?

I am nervous about it....I have to have a test done that I haven't ever had before. I have also been very depressed lately which has been the cause of a lot of my recent cutting.

Do you think that your nervousness about the test might be causing some SI urges?

I think it is a combination of nervousness about the test and nervousness about the doctor seeing and commenting on the scars and cuts that I have.

I see. So do you think that you will feel better after the appt.? With me the anticipation is always worse then the actual thing so I get a lot of relief when it is over.

Made it through the appointment, and the test was normal! It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, and I made it through without cutting!
