I am so stupid!
I have been hurting myself for the past few days. I have been slapping, hitting myself. I have been digging things into my hands. Why do I do these things? I know it's wrong yet I still do them. I have been thinking of just "giving up" too! I actually don't know if I wanna stay or not! |

Do not judge yourself. You 'think' you are stupid. You are not actually stupid. If you were actually stupid, you'd be diagnosed as such.
Don't be so hard on yourself ![]()

There is a valid reason why you are doing these things. Does it bring you some relief?

Why do I feel stupid though? I always feel stupid. I might as well have that as a diagnosis. Sometimes I really wonder why I do these things to myself.
I guess a little bit of relief. I guess its a frustration thing? Maybe even a gulity pleasure. I find hurting myself is soothing sometimes. I know I sound crazy! |

Just because you feel stupid, doesn't mean you are.
It does sound crazy that it's soothing, to the ignorant that is, but I understand what you mean.

No, it doesn't sound crazy. This is why people SI. It is a way to cope and it does bring some relief. There has to be a payoff or you wouldn't do it. Do you have a T so that you can work on the issues that trigger your need to cope by SI ing?

Thanks guys,
I have a CPN(Community Psychiatric Nurse) but not seeing him for another 3 weeks. I am feeling better today. I don't want to hurt myself even though I am still feeling sad now and again. Maybe the depression is lifting ![]() |

Please don't feel stupid. You are not alone in acting this way, probably more people than you know struggle with these same feelings. It doesn't mean anything about you, and does not make you stupid, or crazy, or anything like that. Big hugs.

Thanks Littleyellowspider,
You know when you sometimes just feel like life is not worth it anymore. The way life should be is just not what it is. Self hatred is just a huge part of me and I sometimes just can't get away from it |

Can you get a therapist so that you can work towards the life that you want and work on that self hatred?

Asking your GP or your pdoc would be a good idea.
