I don't consider myself to be a self-harmer (have cut/burnt a handful of times, also used to "dig holes" in my scalp), but I've noticed that whenever I am angry or frustrated, I will start forcefully hitting my chest. Does anyone else do this? It is completely impulsive and usually not even a conscious choice.

That's usually how I used to self harm. i'd end up hitting myself (usually my shoulder for some reason or my ribs) and barely realize it. It just let out my frustrations and in a way punished me I guess. It was better to feel that physical pain than the emotional pain and I was never really a cutter so I hit.

I do this at times....I usually hit my head with both hands clenched tight in fists. And not just once....I just continually hit until I can't do it any longer.

I used to punch my arms and thighs when particularly angry. To me it was easier than cutting and gave the same level of pain and discomfort as regular self harm.

My sister & boyfriend are head-punchers during anxiety fits. *shrug* I've always wanted to "fight club" but I'd never have the balls to actually go through it hahha. Stingy pain is much better than deep bruising.

I tend to do it from time to time, trying to bruise my arm or leg. A bruise can be painful for a few days.
