It's normal. You rely on your knife and you are stressing that its gone. You are attached to it, like if you lost your puppy or your teddy bear. Maybe it's a sign that you need to slow down the cutting. Don't do it everyday. Then don't do it every week, and so on. Eventually just stop... It's better this way

It may be an expected part of the SI experience, but that in itself is not normal. Cutting is your "drug of choice", and we all know how drug addictions can end. You need to find out why you are cutting and then find a better way to cope. Its the endorphins that your body releases that make you feel better after you cut. You can get the same endorphin release with jogging or other strenuous exercise. That is a bit simplistic, and its not like you can just decide to stop cutting and stop, but it may help feed your endorphin addiction in a way that is not damaging you.
You hurt, badly, for some reason, and until you face it and work through it, the scars will continue to pile up. Please think about getting some professional help. That doesn't mean you are weak or inferior. You've just gotten caught in a cycle and need help breaking it. Sam2 |
