I don't know if anyone's posted this before, but I found it interesting, and shocking that some SI'ers were given stitches without anesthesia because the ER workers thought they didn't care about pain. That makes me feel sick.

Luckily that's beginning to change in many hospitals. More ER doctors are being trained in how to handle self-injury cases and to be more sympathetic.
I agree that it is disturbing that these things happen. It's a result of misunderstanding and misinterpretation. |

I know here they are not kind and it's a last ditch effort if you aren't currently in the mental health system here. We have 2 hospitals here and I would refuse to go to one of them if I had to go in.
