in cases where someone is hurting themself
but it's in the process of doing something they enjoy only they keep doing it even when it is causing injury? like ... you regularly see or hear of athletes who continue to train and compete when they are injured so what would be the point where it changed from being not SI to SI? |

I don't think it would be considered as SI, more like they are sacrificing themselves for the thing they love and can't imagine living without. Sorta like Black Swan, if you've seen that movie.

Wow, Tigergirl - you've asked a truly interesting question... With that definition, I'm honestly not sure what is SI and what isn't. I used to SI often (I recently stopped), but I absolutely loved it. I had this incredible rush each time I did it - and it was relaxing at the same time. It changed from being something I deserved, to something that I needed. Do you feel the same?
