Tuesdays are always hard for me.
Mondays I only work a 1/2 day (cuz of therapy + group therapy take up the other 1/2 day). So, Tuesday feels more like the beginning of my work week. Tuesday is when the reality of "I need to sit here for 32 more hours" starts to sink into my head - and that seems impossible. Anxiety rises. Desire to flee rises. I often hide in the mensroom and cut. And yes - I cut some today. I found some skin way back on inside of my thigh that I must not have cut for awhile cuz it cut very easily. It did not really make me feel much better (anxiety is running VERY high right now). I guess i will have to cut more. |

Hi UM, really sorry you're feeling like that. Do you get any "break times"?? Then maybe you could break down the thought of time into smaller chunks e.g. I only have to go one...two....three more hours then......a break. Try not to constantly clock watch though, I can imagine that would be torturous??
And anything different you kind of like that you could do after work? I know that may be hard but anything you can use as maybe a "light at the end of the tunnel". Any distractions you could bring into your work though or any flexibility in what/the order you need to do things in? e.g. if you need something a little more (or less) stimulating/intense schedule those things around how you're feeling. I know it must be really hard though, and although it might not help that much just remember that we're here for you. Try to hang on in there!!! One minute....hour......at a time!!! Alison ![]() |

Thought Alison had a good idea about looking forward to your next break, Focus on that, not "I have 32 more hours of this to go." Sorry, sounds kind of familiar. Wanting to flee (or escape, as me the foreigner would say). Smiles, and hugs to you. Comfort, too.
