I'm just wondering if medication helps you stop? I've been on meds now for about 2 mos and just had it increased a second time but so far it hasn't helped. I want to stop but so far the meds haven't helped yet. Why can't I stop, why am I this way? I can't let people find out especially my family and I keep hoping the medicine will kick in and I will stop before anyone finds out. I hate this but I càn't seem to stop myself.

Anyone? Feel like I'm talking to myself. Why do I feel like I'm just crazy? Maybe I am. God, I wish you would take this away because I'm tired of being alone in this darkness all the time. Ugggh I am so tired

Sorry. Just wanted you to know I read your post but I've never found a medication to help with this. I suppose there are medications for depression etc to help and that should ease symptoms which in turn would help the self harm to stop/reduce. It's just a case of finding the med that works for you. It takes time unfortunately

Sorry, my medication does help me tons. It took a long time to find the right one but you can find one that worked. Some people use the medication that is for smoking and that works.

I got put on Prozac at the same time I decided to quit self-harming. I think it's helping, because I've been clean for three weeks now, but it's still a struggle at times.

I take Naltrexone for self harm. It takes away the endorphins from the pain response. It doesn't work all the time but it works with the addictive qualities of it.

These things take time. Meds are not an exact science. Combining meds and talking can help, adding in exercise can help. Finding something to distract yourself can help. If you need more ideas, message me.
