Will I ever stop fantasying about hurting myself?
My life is better then it has been in a long time. And although I've not self harmed for over a year. I still get the urge to do so...!! I don't even come close to being as sick as I was last year and many years before that. I no longer need professional help.but I often think about self harm. I Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My T says that the thoughts might never completely go away, but they will get less intense. You used SI as a coping mechanism and so it's normal that your brain wants to go there when it's hurting, or sometimes even when it's not. Just try and acknowledge that the thoughts are still there because it was a pattern of the past, but don't dwell on them, and just move on with something else. Sometimes that acknowledgement is all you will need. Hugs, Jacq

I've wondered that too. I do know that with more coping skills the urges lessen.

Thank you for your support and hugs it means a lot.
I guess I know I'm a lot stronger. Maybe it's just loneliness I don't know. :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
