Hi guys, this is my first post in this forum.
![]() I have typically struggled with depression for the past 6 years and I would cut quite often to deal with the emotional pain. However, for the past 3 months I have been clean and very happy until tonight when I cut because I was craving the pain and seeing the blood. I don't want to disappoint the people who put faith in me not hurting myself anymore but I constantly crave the rush I get from it. Do you have any suggestions? I have already tried drawing red lines on myself and snapping rubber bands and it just doesn't make up for what I really want to feel. I just want to not crave this anymore. ![]() Last edited by Turtleboy; May 22, 2014 at 09:10 AM. Reason: added trigger |

The longer you go without cutting the less you will crave it. You have to take it one day at a time just like with an addiction. I hope you are seeing a counselor to help you work through your emotional pain, but only you can learn to let go of cutting. Develop a saftey plan for when you start to crave. Like call a friend. Go be with your family, etc. You can find a way though it is not an easy journey.

Take a walk away from the stresses of life. Or find a good DVD that will get your heart rate up and the cravings start to decrease. Or just come on here. There's many of us that are willing to help.
