Today is the 30th day since the last time I self injured.
Carrie <font color=green>But the implicit and usually unconscious bargain we make with ourselves is that, yes, we want to be healed, we want to be made whole, we're willing to go some distance, but we're not willing to question the fundamental assumptions upon which our way of life has been built, both personally and societally.--Bill Plotkin, Soulcraft |

Thanks Everyone,
In the last month I have had the ressurection of sexual addiction, excercise addiction and compulsive eating. I have gotten control of each one as they have come up. The compulsive eating one was tough. I ended up gaining 5 pounds in about a week and a half. When I mentioned it to people they say things like "five pounds looks good on you, it is no big deal." But it is a big deal because I had lost 45 pounds and only had 5 more to go to make my goal weight. Thing is most people I know now didn't know me when I was 190. Those who did know me don't remember. I picked up my AA 1 month chip yesterday. When I showed it to my husband he started to cry. He said he was sorry for getting so emotional and I told him, his tears mean a lot to me and gave him a big hug. I just wish the visions would go away. I can deal with the thoughts if they come by themselves. It is when I get physical ghost sensations and visual images of SI that it becomes difficult. Does anyone else deal with these things? Lexicon:
Three months seems incredible to me but I feel that it is possible. I have made it a month before so am feeling optimistically cautious. Heather: You know what, it may sound big headed but I am proud of myself. Part of me feels silly too. Seems like it should be easy to not hurt one's self. But it isn't. Yeah, I am proud of myself.
