Have you ever had to see a dr for something but had new injuries or healing ones and they commented on it? I'm talking no psych dr. What happened?

I just said that I was already in therapy, that I'm working on it and I don't need their lecture.
Most seemed to leave it at that. |

I made the mistake of cutting up my arm pretty badly the day before my annual physical. There was no doubt that it was self -inflicted. When my Dr. asked about it, I just said it was something I did sometimes, and that I was seeing a therapist about it. She asked for the name of the therapist, and asked me some questions to make sure I wasn't suicidal, but pretty much left it alone after that.
But she still asks me if I'm cutting now, when I have my annual physical. splitimage |

Earlier in this year I had to go to the dr for numbness in my legs. Last November I burned my ankles but I still had noticeable scars at that appointment. He said we what it was and I calmly said that it was self-harm and that I have a therapist. He said ok and never asked agin.

I screwed up and did it before a gynecologist appt. she freaked out and was mean. I see a different on Wednesday and I worry it will happen again but I doubt there will even be an exam.
