I've been hurting myself lately as a a way to deal with physical pain, because I would rather deal with pain I can control than pain I can not control. I want to stop but I don't know how to and I lost faith in western medicine a year ago when the we're unable to determine the cause of my GI problems and anxiety attacks.

I'm sorry that you feel the need to hurt yourself! Are you in therapy or on meds? It's too bad you lost faith in western medicine but medicine is not an exact science and there is still much to learn. You won't get any better care anywhere else.
