I had a really triggering Dr. appointment this morning and when I got back to my car I just sat there for a minute, and then I cut myself again. I kept going over the same cut, and at one point I just stopped feeling it. There's part of the cut that I can still feel, but towards the middle there is no sensation there. Is this something to worry about?

if you are really worried, seek medical attention but generally, unless you have opened the wound up to where it doesn't close and you require stitches you will be ok. your skin has thousands of tiny nerve endings and when you have damaged them by cutting them over and over you have killed off those little nerve endings and that is why you are numb

what kaliope said... I've also noticed I can "wear out" the nerves for a while. The feeling usually comes back after some healing happens.

Hi JessLynn, great replies above!!! So just dropping by to see how you are now after your Dr. appointment.
It sounds like it was really difficult for you, so if you want to talk about it, the effect on you...........?? ![]() Alison |
