I relapsed after a long time of not cutting or hurting myself physically, it seems like there are huge gaps of time between my cutting episodes but once I do it I feel the urge to do it more whenever I get upset or emotional.
I'm going through a lot of positive changes in my life being in a new relationship is one of those positive changes but relationships can be tough even the good ones... I think I have not quite healed from lots of past trauma, long term ongoing trauma that is actually pretty recent... it's very discouraging to have these urges and feelings even though my life is supposed to be getting better.

Congratulations on things in your life taking a positive spin. It''s too bad that you suffered a relapse but things happen sometimes. Just try to move on from it and challenge yourself to make it an even longer time between episodes. Self-injury is a difficult problem at best so be gentle with yourself and just move on. Good Luck with your new relationship too.
