I am really struggling not to think painful thoughts that create pain inside me. What a terrible way to punish yourself. A ton of hurt and now a ton of hurting myself. I know there is a ton of anger too. I hope my appointment with counselor tomorrow will help.

i have a technique i use for unwanted thoughts. i have a door at the front of my mind and one at the back of my mind. the thoughts come in the front door and the only attention i give them is to notice them long enough to escort them out the back door. they are like clouds drifting through. i do not become attached to them, the only thing i think in my head is "thats it, out the back door". i will even visualize the thought being thrown out of my mind like a bouncer throwing a drunk out of a bar.

It can also help not to harshly self-criticize every time we feel badly or something goes wrong. I used to do that all the time and feel really down...like I was stuck in a hole that was impossible to climb out of. It could help sometimes to give yourself some grace, to recognize things don't always work out the way you want them to and that's not always your fault. Sometimes unfortunate things just happen.

It is so hard not to review. Not to look back. Not to react so painfully to things. It hurts so much. Abused when little and horribly reminded in the present by every nasty moment that hurts. There are good moments too but the collection feels like it is more on the other side.

Any hurt goes inward. Something's are really not meant. Just need strength to refocus and move on.
