I hate it when I am in a situation where I am trying to talk to someone that I like but don't know that well and I want to get to know her better but as I am standing there my mind goes completely blank and I feel totally stupid and I must look stupid and so I just want to run away but I know if I run away I will not make a good impression but the desire to run away makes my mind go even blanker and all I really want to do is make a friend and in the end I am just a dweeb.

<font color=green>But the implicit and usually unconscious bargain we make with ourselves is that, yes, we want to be healed, we want to be made whole, we're willing to go some distance, but we're not willing to question the fundamental assumptions upon which our way of life has been built, both personally and societally.--Bill Plotkin, Soulcraft

I can relate, Carrie. But I don't agree that you are a dweeb. Maybe someone here will have some advice? I feel like a dweeb

Take care,

I think we all feel like dweebs when we're trying to get to know new people. It's cause we don't know what to expect, or what they'll expect of us! I can definitely relate as I've started trying to get to know everyone on this site. I want to get to know everyone, but just like you, I feel like a dweeb sometimes!!! You have all been pretty nice to welcome me, though! And I appreciate you for it! Anyway, my point was just that I relate! (I take way too many sentences to say anything) lol
