I don't know what to do. I'm sitting in my room and I feel numb and blank and I wish I died two years ago. I play music violently and I sing and I run and I indulge myself into everyday life but nothing works. I can't forget him touching me as a child or my mom leaving and I don't want to be some attention seeking child.. I just want to look at these words, just so I know that I'm somewhat existing in this life and I wish time went by at a pace that I can somewhat understand. I can't understand time. Or my emotions and my addiction is taking over my head and my skin is scarred leaving me breathless and more alone then when I began. Please. Just.. I need something. A substance that leaves me with something more than a empty scar and blood stains..

LinkStrife, So sorry for what you endured and experienced abuse as a child. No one should have to go through it. I know life is tough now, because I ran from my problems trying to drown them, but it was not until I reached out for help that I started to get better.

But it is hard without a therapist and guide that specializes in surviving abuse. A psychiatrist can help confirm a diagnosis and prescribe meds to stabilize the situation.

Many people find the forums and the articles helpful. Here are some forums.
Survivors of Abuse - Forums at Psych Central

Post-traumatic Stress - Forums at Psych Central

Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems though still there are more manageable.

There are lots of compassionate people here that can make the load lighter by sharing and caring. Feel free to participate actively at Psych Central. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

If you do not yet have a T, finding one may be a good start, as CANDC has suggested. While it doesn't make everything magically better, a T can be a good support and guide through all that.
I'm sorry you are struggling so much.
