Hello nobodyimportant. Welcome to Psych Central. I am sorry you are feeling so filled with despair. Psych Central is a volunteer organization and when people are in crisis they should talk to crisis centers or hotlines when having thoughts of harming themselves or are in danger of doing so.

Here are safety plan explanations and tips so you can devise a plan to prevent self harm.
Psych Central - Search results for Safety plan

If you feel that there is a risk of acting on these thoughts call a hotline right away.

If you have a therapist or psych doc, contact them as soon as you can to look at meds.

There are life style changes that can give some relief that I have tried. These are not remedies but things that help me cope.

Here is what I use when my head gets over crammed with thoughts. Breathe in a natural way. Silently count one on the inhale and 2 on the exhale. 3 on the inhale and 4 on the exhale. Continue up to 10 then go back to 1. This helps me focus on breathing rather than the wall of thoughts.

Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central.

Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

Hello and welcome to Psych Central (((NI)))!!! It's nice to meet you. You have joined a community of warm and caring members who will want to offer you support and advice. Yours is welcome as well.

Please feel free to contact any community liaison or moderator by left clicking on their name in blue to the left of their post if you need help navigating the forums. It will take some time for your first five posts to appear as they are being evaluated and then you will be able to join chats.

I'm sorry for your struggles. You are important to us!!! I hope you're being treated by a psychiatrist or a therapist for your depression. It can be overwhelming to deal with alone. Is there someone in your family you can share your feelings with? You can also utilize the suicide hotline to talk to someone 1-800-273-TALK. I hope you feel better soon. You'll find we have a safe and supportive community. I'm glad you've joined us.

I look forward to seeing you around!!!

if you feel like hurting yourself please get the help you need. i understand i've been there before, it is not the right solution to stop the pain.. please call crisis services if you need to, i know you want to help yourself because you're here, where we all care.
Thanks for this!

Welcome to PC, you are not alone although I totally understand how you feel. I'm alone and isolate a lot. It comes with depression and anxiety, for me.

How are you feeling since your last post? Please stay safe and I'm glad you joined us.
