I saw that you have a previous post on another forum that seems like you felt that watching porn helped you relieve anxiety. So I guess my question is what changed from then to now..that you now feel it is self injury instead of anxiety relief?

I think something can be both anxiety relieving & unhealthy at the same time. I'm not into "adult material". But I have done a lot of things in my life that felt good in the short term but were unhealthy just the same... some more so than others. Part of the problem is that sometimes how unhealthy a thing is may be difficult to see when it's helping you keep your anxiety, or other problems, at bay day-to-day. Like the old saying goes: "It's hard to fly with eagles when you're up to your *** in alligators." The good news here, perhaps, is that you realize viewing "adult material" is unhealthy even though it is helping to calm your anxiety. This creates the opportunity for you to choose a different path. As another saying puts it: "No matter how far you've travelled down the wrong road... TURN BACK!" I wish you well...
