i keep seeing myself slicing off my left hand with a big knife.

anyone having these visions too? what do they mean?

Well... I don't know as I've had weird visions. But I've certainly thought of, & sometimes done, some weird stuff! Personally, I chalk it all up to anxiety. I don't think we appreciate how much damage unrelenting anxiety can do to the mind... & probably to the body as well.

when i was experiencing psychosis,
Possible trigger:
i think i just felt un-real or un noticed. Maybe a cry for help.

But, your problem, i read one of those self help books a while back and there was a story about a midwife who had visions of herself throwing a baby out of the window while she worked. So it may not have a direct meaning like we can do to dreams. I don't know how she managed to overcome this, i think it was called a "neurotic" thought process, and the therapist who wrote the book talked her through it
