I know if I haven't done it in a while it feels almost euphoric tobdo it, Its like seeing your long lost friend again. I know it relieves a lot of pressure and gives me instant relief but i have to remind myself that it is short lived bc almost immediately I want to keep doing it then I start to realize that I have to hide it from those I love, I can't wear what I want, I have to worry about scars and it makes things worse every time. I definitely think it's an addiction in every aspect. I have a tendency to glamorize and only remember the good parts of it when I'm having g an urge. It helps me to play the tape to the end so to speak.
