But also amazing is that you have been resisting the new urges for months.

What are your ways of resisting and overcome the urges?

Honestly judgement from others... Which is pretty weak... I hate other people judging me, I feel a need to be perfect (which I am far from either way) so instead I fight a battle inside my own head 🙁.
My partner helps keep me grounded... When I am able to talk.. which is less and less.. that could be because I am struggling more ... Nfi 🙁

I only did the SH (not cutting) for a short time when I was at my lowest point in confusion and frustration. Sometimes I feel like it, but I’ll never do it again, I hope.

Thanks Bill3, my goal is to not SH for the rest of the year. It's a big goal but I'm really going to give it my all and hopefully make it. It would be nice to go into the New Year with some days built up. I really want to be done with SH in my life but sometimes it sucks me back in especially when the depression is bad. Kit

I'm counting since the 19th, so 10 days... I was in alcohol treatment and harmed while there and I don't know the exact days, but discharged the 19th so counting from there...

How does the alcohol treatment affect urges to SI?

It made the urges to self harm go up actually. I think not having access to my preferred method was the distressing part, really... They started me on naltrexone while I was there, which can help with urges and cravings for both things. Now that I have access to any method, tho, I have managed to not harm. IDK, security blanket logic.

I've been getting extra sleep. I've been thinking about my trip to Disneyland on Monday (my Christmas present to myself). Writing here on PC. Being committed to not SH-ing until the end of the year. Going easy on myself when I would normally be kind of hard on myself. Going to therapy tonight. Thanks Bill3!
